Winter and Spring Classes

From September to March, the branch runs a general class on Monday evenings, 7:30pm-9:30pm, at Dell Farquharson Community Centre, Nethertown Broad Street, Dunfermline, KY12 7DS

This class is suitable for dancers who have a grasp of SCD steps and formations, and live music is provided by an accordionist when possible or CDs. New classes started 4th September 2023

A Beginners / Improvers class usually runs from 7:30pm-8:45pm, also on Monday evenings. This class is suitable for complete beginners or for returning dancers who would like to boost their confidence before joining the general class for the second half of the evening.  You can find more information on the Beginners / Improvers page. 

Classes are taught on a rota basis by RSCDS-qualified branch teachers and other invited teachers, which ensures a wide variety of different teaching styles and dances.

  • Winter Term: 4th September – 4th December 2023 (Alison Austin teaching)
  • Spring Term: 2024 – 8th January to 25th March (Alison Austin teaching)

The nightly fee is now £6 for non-members and £5 for Branch members.   

Dancers can now pay in advance for a single term (excluding the party night)   £35 or pay in September for both terms – £65  

Advanced class remains at £5 per night

Covid-19 Guidelines

In line with RSCDS recommendations, RSCDS Dunfermline Branch follows the guidelines set out by SportScotland to assist with a safe dancing environment for all.

In the first instance, we recommend that you do not attend any of our events if you feel unwell.
 
In addition:

  • We ask all attendees to sanitise their hands between dances using the hand sanitiser provided or their own hand sanitiser, to reduce the risk of transmission.
  • Please bring your own cup/ glass. Tea, coffee, juice and a biscuit will be provided.
