What do we cover?

During the first part of the evening, our qualified teachers look at some of the steps and formations and how they are used within two or three dances.  Having mastered the dances, dancers are encouraged to join the general class (downstairs at same venue (8:45pm – 9:30pm) for the second half where there is an opportunity to go through the same dances again.

At the end of term party night, everyone comes together for the evening to enjoy all of the dances learned during the term.

When does the class run? Specific dates are found by going back to Home Page, click on Class info.

The class runs in the Autumn / Winter each year from September – December) and Spring class January to March).

Dancers who have previously attended our Beginners / Improvers class are welcome to attend our General class in the Summer term.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What sort of shoes should I wear? Most dancers wear ballet shoes or ghillie dance shoes. When you’re starting off, we recommend wearing / bringing soft shoes that allow you to move your feet, but not shoes which have a non-slip sole (like trainers).

Do I need to join at the start of term? New dancers are welcomed at any point in the term, although in general dancers with less experience may find it easier to start early in the term as formations and dances generally progress in difficulty through the term.

Can young people under 18 years old attend this class? The class is primarily for adults over 18 years old as we have a separate class for young dancers. Younger dancers may attend with a parent / guardian at the discretion of the teacher.
