Dunfermline Branch
RSCDS Dunfermline Branch
The Dunfermline branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society was formed in 1929. Today we are a small & very friendly branch of the society running a full range of classes over the winter months. Unusually for a small branch, we run a technique class; this is taught by some well known society teachers. Last year we had an average of 12 new dancers at our beginners class, we still have room for more this year.
In December each year we host a Ball in the Glen Pavillion of Pittencrieff Park and this is now firmly established on the Scottish Country Dancing calendar. In 2007 one hundred and forty six dancers enjoyed a three course meal followed by dancing to David Cunningham's Band.
Over the summer months we hold a number of dances on Wednesday evenings. This year we have had to relocate our summer dancing to Abbeyview Community Centre but we are sure will still have some great dancing.
