80 Years of SCD in Dunfermline

We celebrated eighty years of Scottish country dancing in Dunfermline Friday 29th May, when the Branch hosted an anniversary dance.

The Glen Pavilion was filled with 200 people from Scotland, England, Wales and even Canada, dancing to the popular Marian Anderson Scottish Dance Band. Special guests in attendance were the RSCDS President, Dr Alistair MacFadyen, and RSCDS Chairman, Professor Alex Gray. Honorary President of the Branch, Jeanette McSporran, cut the celebration cake.

The dance launched a programme of events involving the Dunfermline Branch.

  • From October 2nd-4th 2009, we will co-host a weekend dancing school with dancers attending from across Europe.
  • On December 9th 2009, a civic reception will be held at the annual Dunfermline Ball.
